My Background I was born in NY and grew up in NJ. My early interests in music, theater, dance and psychology brought me to Oberlin Conservatory where I graduated with a BM in Piano Performance. From there, I went to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, UK, earning a Licentiate degree in Music Therapy. After returning to the US, I worked for several years as a music therapist with an emphasis on psych, substance abuse, developmentally delayed pre-schoolers, and pediatric oncology. I was also Director of Development at Creative Arts Rehabilitation Center and have an ongoing relationship with Music For All Seasons, providing music therapy performances in hospitals, prisons and special schools. |

Meanwhile I continued to write and perform my own music while immersing myself in the New York singer songwriter scene. In addition to playing in an original and progressive Celtic band, Idle Rumours, I backed up a number of artists in concert and in the studio. I eventually recorded my first solo CD on the Prime CD label and began touring full time, recording a total of four solo CDs and winning songwriting competitions and awards. In the mid 90s, Adrienne Jones and I formed another trio, Madwoman in the Attic, and in 2001, we created our third and current trio with Mark Saunders, Mad Agnes. Mad Agnes has released three CDs and one DVD to national acclaim. Info, quotes and tour schedule can be found at www.madagnes.com. Having had an interest in the Feldenkrais Method® for several years, I completed the teacher training in 2003. Not only have I benefited personally in my playing, singing and overall comfort, I've enjoyed sharing the work as a practioner and workshop leader. Other personal interests include Yoga which I've practiced for over twenty years. I also enjoy gardening, silent meditation retreats, well-written books and poetry, and my childhood grand piano with which Ive recently been reunited. I live in Bloomfield, CT with my husband and bandmate, Mark Saunders. Hes a gifted guitarist and a great cook but I always beat him at Boggle. |
