HOUSE CONCERTS

Thanks for your interest in having a house concert. We love playing them, and would be glad to do one with you if we can work out all the details.

We feel that house concerts bring out the best in us and in the audience. We usually perform without a sound system (although we do use light amplification for the keyboard and bass; a live, "woody" room without a lot of carpeting is ideal). Furniture is arranged for a concert setting; often folding chairs are used. Our range of material works beautifully in a home environment. Friendly heckling is welcome -- the audience generally feels free to ask us questions along the way, and there's a lot of fun interaction. Many first-timers at house concerts have told us it's the best live music experience they've ever had.

Financial arrangements are based on a number of things including location, routing, and/or day of the week, and we may require a minimum. Usually an admission is charged at the door, with proceeds going directly to the artist. Folks are generally asked to donate a fixed amount between $12 and $20, with the option of kicking in more. It's often arranged as a pot luck, too, either dinner or light refreshments, so you're not stuck with feeding everyone. We'd need housing as well (a double and a single room are ideal), which provides the best part of all -- the benefits of visiting with friends!

Margo will be happy to discuss it further with you; give her a call at (860) 206-2746 or send her an e-mail if you'd like to set something up.
