Welcome to TR Books!  This is an evolving home for various self-published authors' works.  Many of these are lovingly homemade in manageable batches, coil bound and signed by the authors on request.  Poetry, stories, handmade journals and interactive scrapbooks are available, among other things.  Click on the four links at the right for more information and pictures.

I started Talking River Books because I'm passionate about words, and the potential of the blank page.  When I was a girl my mother would take me shopping at the B.X. (Base Exchange for those of you not raised in the military), and she'd always know where to find me -- in the stationery section, gazing mesmerized at the reams and boxes of unfilled paper.  Even then I was awed by the possibilities!  I kept diaries, journals, drawings, secret stories.  Through all the paths my life has traversed I've never lost that magical feeling -- the love of writing and the connection it engenders between writer and reader.  So I decided it was time to create a place for special books that I could share with you.

I found that it feels good to make a book!  It feels good to receive one from a friend's hands -- like eating homemade bread, just one step removed from the baker. These volumes come directly out of the amazing world of possibility.  I want you to feel as though you know the author of this book, that she/he touched your life as a friend would.  We're made bold and compassionate by the power of the written word; we're inspired and compelled to better ourselves.

So take a look around.  If you're a writer and you feel a harmony here, feel free to contact me.  Your work remains your own.  This is just a way for it to be manufactured and seen.

Blessings,
Adrienne Jones
